Covid 19 – Level 3, day 4

Kia ora e te whanau
Today I want to give a big shout out to our staff. A major change in the way we teach would normally take months if not years to implement. Our crew had two days and I am so proud of the way they have rolled up their sleeves and adapted.
We are under no illusion that we have ‘got it right’, as we are learning alongside you. Follow the link that I have copied in below and you may have some sense of what it has been like for us.

In many ways the challenge, though hard work, has been refreshing.
As I said all the staff have done their bit to ensure that we continue to operate, albeit in a reduced and different manner. I know also that you have been thrust into a different role in your households by trying to get your child engaged in learning. Your efforts have also been appreciated. The staff love to get the work in from kids so they can reinforce and build on the learning as well as continuing to strengthen those relationships.
In level three we have had 10 – 12 children back each day. They have been operating in two bubbles. We look forward to a move to level two in the next couple of weeks so that we can welcome even more of the kids back to school.
Keep supporting your kids to do a little more each day so that they can be prepared for when we do get back to school. As always, you know that I am available to respond to any of your requests and will support you in whatever way I can.
I’m missing my Avalon whanau and look forward to seeing you all soon.
