Kia ora koutou,
Most of you will have received the alert about moving to Level Two in response to the community transmission of Covid in Auckland.
At this stage for us in Wellington, the response is mainly cautionary. We have all possibly become a little complacent in our behaviours so it is a timely reminder that there is still a risk of an outbreak.
We need to increase our vigilance around personal hygiene and interactions around others. It has been acknowledged that Physical distancing is virtually impossible at Primary Schools, howe3ver we will be encouraging children to use good hygiene practices as well as wiping down hard surfaces more regularly.
The main messages are:
Keep your child home if they are showing any signs of colds or flu-like symptoms
Wash hands regularly and thoroughly
Cough and sneeze into your elbow
Stay at home if you are waiting for Covid Test results
Record your movements via a tracking app.
This alert remains in place until Friday. We will let you know whether this is extended further as soon as we hear.; Keep an eye on our facebook page for updates.
Regards
Dirk
