In Room 9, we have been learning all about the ANZAC soldiers. As an ending to our inquiry, we caught the train into Wellington and walked to Te Papa, and to the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park. We got pretty tired from all that walking, but we had an awesome day!
At Te Papa, we explored the ‘Scale of Our War’ exhibition. It was fascinating, and so life-like! It was cool to see all of the things we’d read about come to life! The exhibits were really interactive and we enjoyed learning more about WW1.
At Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, we read about the different troops who served during WW1, and we enjoyed looking at the pictures and statues that are all around the memorial. We were interested with the tomb of the unknown soldier and showed our respect by not touching the stone.
We had such a great day in Wellington – and we even saw a giant stingray in the harbour as we walked back to the train station!
