Samoan Language Week
This week we have been celebrating Samoan language week. In Room 10 we were lucky enough to have some students bring in their own lavalava. We all learnt how to tie the lavalava and discussed the different patterns on each of them.
We have been learning some simple phrases including hello, talofa lava, please, fa’amolemole and thank you, fa’afetai. We also looked at how to say different colours, foods and numbers in Samoan. There have been lots of experts in our class that have used their knowledge of the beautiful language to help others in the class learn more!
We have enjoyed learning more of the Samoan language and we look forward to using what we have learnt in the future in the classroom and our community.
