Room 10’s Newsletter
Kia Ora whanau!
WOW we are half way through the term and what a busy term we have had.
We would like to welcome Kelly Zhong who’s family has recently moved from China. Kelly has started in Room 10 and we are very excited to have her join our Room 10 whanau. We would also like to wish Santina all the best at her new school. Our Room 10 family will surely miss you!
As we are in the middle of the term now, we are heading towards our assessment time and the busiest time of the term. As attendance is strongly linked with achievement I recommend that your child keeps up their attendance so that they do not fall behind and miss out on important learning.
We have started homework this term and I am encouraging our kids to ask parents and caregivers to help them and also to spend just 5 minutes talking to their families about what they are learning at school. This is a great opportunity for you to get involved with your child’s learning and to ask them questions about what they are doing at school. It is great to see a lot of positive feedback from our kids who have shared some awesome Maths tricks they have learnt from home. Keep up the good work!
Please let me know if you would like me to send more work for your child to take home, as I am aware that we are have a lot of potential in our class and some of our kids are whizzing through their homework.
Feel free to pop in anytime before school or after school to have a chat in regards to your child’s learning. I am open to suggestions and invite you to be part of your child’s education.
Welcome all to Room 10’s page!
Sorry it has taken a while to get up and running with our page.
My name is Vanessa and I will be working with the beautiful tamariki in Room 10. I am so excited to be back at Avalon working alongside our whanau and it is great to see familiar faces who I have taught last year in Room 8 and the year before in Room 14.
Looking forward to an awesome term and as always, my door is always open if you would like to pop in for a chat in regards to your child’s learning or just to say hi
