Wainuiomata Hill Poems

The ALL junior writers are exploring what is around us in the HUTT VALLEY.

Our first trip was to the top of the Wainuiomata Hill.

Back at school we wrote about what we had seen by making ‘describe the noun’ poems.

Here are some for you to read … can you imagine being at the top of the hill with us!

Birds – flying in the grey rain clouds

Cars – driving on the wet road

Sea – curling around the motorway

Mountains – standing with snow on the tops

Daniel

Snow – gliding on the hill

Sun – drying out the road

Sea – waving along the salty water

Hills – rolling like green waves

Alyis

Leaves – moving on the wet bushes

Cars – driving on the slippery road

Snow – staying on the mountains

Flax – standing on the hill sides

Shantelle

Snow – sparkling on the mountaintops

Sea – moving like trees rustling

Leaves – flowing everywhere in the wind

Waves – splashing on the sand

 Nuam Sen

Rain – dropping on the zigzag road

Cars – rushing on the Wainui hills

Snow – shining like icing

Sea – sparkling beautifully in the sun

Beatrice

What lovely descriptive poems. I can just imagine being there with you. How beautiful the hills must have looked with snow on top! Keep up the fantastic writing 🙂
